MINNEAPOLIS — After being federally sentenced in July, Vance Boelter's state trial is set for Nov. 2.

According to KARE 11's Lou Raguse, Boelter is also demanding a speedy trial. Boelter faces seven charges after shooting and killing Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman, her husband, Mark, in their Brooklyn Park home last year, as well as shooting State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, in their Champlin home that same morning.

The charges include two counts of first-degree premeditated murder, four counts of attempted first-degree murder, one count of cruelty to an animal and one count of impersonating an officer.
