This race has captured national attention because of the wider implications it could have had on control of the U.S. House.

LAKEVILLE, Minn. — Matt Little has won the race for Minnesota Congressional District 2, a seat that was up for grabs after U.S. Rep. Angie Craig ran for U.S. Senate.

The Associated Press projects Little beat out State Senator Eric Pratt, keeping the district blue.

Little has been a State Senator since 2017.

University of Minnesota Political Science Professor Larry Jacobs said the district has changed over the last decade, with more Democratic voters living in the area than in years past. Rep. Craig won the seat by 13.5 points in 2024.

The 2nd Congressional District covers parts of Dakota, Washington, Scott, Rice and Le Sueur counties.
