Man dies in early morning Minneapolis shooting

Officers found a man Friday morning with life-threatening gunshot wounds in the driver's seat of a vehicle.

MINNEAPOLIS — The Minneapolis Police Department is investigating after a man died in an early morning shooting Friday. 

Officers responded to the 2400 block of 18th Avenue South around 3:20 a.m. to a ShotSpotter activation and 911 calls of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers found a man with life-threatening gunshot wounds in the driver's seat of a vehicle. 

Officers provided aid but the man died at the scene, according to the Minneapolis Police.
