WASHINGTON — A Delta Air Lines pilot had to make an emergency landing in Detroit and go to the hospital on Tuesday, with air traffic control audio revealing the Delta flight captain radioed the tower that he was sick.
"I am the one who is ill," the captain told air traffic control on Tuesday, Aug. 25 in audio obtained from LiveATC.net, first reported by The Boston Globe. "I am going to taxi the jet to the gate, and then I need to go to the hospital."
