He moved from Honduras to Minnesota for a better life, then died at 18. His mother remembers his lasting impact.

For the first time since her son’s death in St. Paul, a Honduran mother is sharing memories of the teen she says left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Lean Joe Coello Coello died June 9 from accidental carbon monoxide poisoning, according to toxicology reports.

St. Paul police said they found Coello, 18, and 16-year-old Karely Kimberly Gonzalez Veloz dead inside a vehicle near the 2100 block of Wilson Avenue. Authorities said the teens were inside the vehicle while a garage door was shut.
