Court rules in favor of Anoka County in pedestrian bridge case

ANOKA, Minn. — A Ramsey County judge recently ruled that millions of dollars were improperly diverted from Anoka County and redirected to the City of Anoka to build a pedestrian bridge over the Rum River in downtown Anoka.

Judge Mark Ireland found the project unconstitutional because it "did not provide the opportunity for Anoka County to consent, nor does the legislation fall within enumerated exceptions."
