Celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day at the Minnesota State Fair

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. — State Fair attendees can celebrate Indigenous food, culture and music with a variety of activities on Sunday. 

The nonprofit North American Traditional Indigenous Food Systems is sponsoring the event at the fair, led by chef Sean Sherman. He visited KARE 11 News at Noon to share more about what to expect. 

For entertainment, there will be live music, theatrical performances, poetry and an Indigenous youth fashion show at Dan Patch Park. An ethnobotanist will lead a nature and plant walk at the DNR area for people who would like to learn more about local plants.
