Consumer Reports did a durability test to find the best hoses.
Consumer Reports tested garden hoses to find options that kink less, hold up better, and deliver solid water flow. Each hose underwent a durability pull test, had its water flow rate measured, and was checked for whether it was more or less prone to kinking.
What performed best?
The tests showed that expandable hoses still had weaker overall results than standard garden hoses. It also found shoppers can spend more than $100 on a top-performing polyurethane hose that did very well in strength and water-flow tests.
